PLEXUS Investments endows Advancement Award for Artificial Intelligence in the Financial Sector

The lucrative prize, which will be awarded annually from 2020, is part of the PLEXUS Investments AI Thinktank, which rests on three pillars:

(1) Knowledge Transfer (via media, conferences, advancement award),
(2) Transparency (AI Outperformance Index), and
(3) Access to Investments (commingled funds or separately managed accounts).

Through its new advancement award, PLEXUS wants to promote research into artificial intelligence (AI) in the financial sector. The award is aimed at students and doctoral candidates. Submissions will be assessed by a distinguished panel of experts.

The Founder and CEO of PLEXUS Investments, Guenter Jaeger, explains: “AI and Machine Learning are going to have a large impact on the world of banking and asset management. Our advancement award has been designed to assist this process – and will increase people’s understanding of the associated benefits.” The “PLEXUS Advancement Award for Artificial Intelligence in the Financial Sector” will be granted once a year and is worth 10,000 Euros.

The award is supported by Deutsche Bildung AG, a German student funding provider. Board member Anja Hofmann says: “The PLEXUS Advancement Award has the potential to become a huge incentive for young researchers, far beyond any monetary aspect. This award offers them the opportunity to make their own mark on one of the most exciting developments in the financial sector.” Deutsche Bildung AG will support the PLEXUS Advancement Award as part of its “WissenPlus” training program.
